Bad Auditions… On Camera

Note: Our production of Bad Auditions… On Camera finished in August 2021. Thank you so much to everyone who came to see the shows!

After the success of the Merry Wives of Corona, the Gay Beggars continue their Gay Beggars go Zoom series with an upcoming production of Bad Auditions… On Camera – A Stay-At-Home Play by Ian McWethy & Carrie McWethy (McCrossen) and produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. (www.playscripts.com).

A casting director has one day to find an actor to fill the role of a lawyer in a crime procedural. But what seems like a simple task proves impossible when the pool of actors chosen by their assistant includes stage thespians who can’t tone it down for the screen, performers completely unable to keep themselves in frame, and an actor who seems to believe this is a toothpaste commercial. At the end of the audition process, audience members will get to vote — who’ll be the unlikely next lead on Crime Court?

Shows take place on August 7th, 8th, 11th, 12th and 14th, with all shows starting at 20:00 except for the Sunday 8th show, which starts at 17:00.
